Athlete Waiver and Release

Important Notice

This is a working draft and must be reviewed and approved by the organizer’s Philippine legal adviser before registration opens to the public.

This waiver affects legal rights. An athlete who does not understand any part of it should ask questions and obtain independent legal or medical advice before accepting it.

1. Participant and Event

This Athlete Waiver and Release applies to participation in:

• Event: Musclecontest Philippines 2026
• Event date: October 10, 2026
• Venue: Subic Bay Exhibition & Convention Center
• Location: Olongapo, Zambales, Philippines

In this waiver, “Participant” or “Athlete” refers to the registered athlete. “Organizer” refers to [OFFICIAL LEGAL NAME OF ORGANIZER].

2. Voluntary Participation

I confirm that I am voluntarily choosing to register for and participate in this event.

I understand that I am not required to participate and that I may withdraw before competing, subject to the applicable registration, cancellation, and refund policies.

3. Nature of the Activity

I understand that bodybuilding and physique competition may involve:

• Physical training and muscular exertion
• Extended posing, flexing, and stage presentation
• Backstage warm-up or “pump-up” activities
• Standing or waiting for extended periods
• Stage stairs, platforms, lighting, cables, and equipment
• Tanning products, oils, adhesives, cosmetics, or similar products
• Travel, crowds, queues, and shared backstage facilities
• Competition preparation undertaken by the athlete

The Organizer does not provide medical, nutritional, training, or supplement advice merely by accepting an event registration.

Nothing in this waiver should be understood as encouraging unsafe dieting, dehydration, drug use, supplement use, or other harmful preparation practices.

4. Acknowledgment of Risks

I understand that event preparation and participation may involve known and unknown risks, including:

• Muscle strains, sprains, cramps, or other physical injuries
• Slips, trips, falls, or collisions
• Heat exhaustion, overheating, dehydration, or fainting
• Fatigue, dizziness, or loss of balance
• Allergic or skin reactions
• Adverse reactions to food, supplements, or personal products
• Aggravation of an existing medical condition
• Exposure to communicable illness
• Cardiovascular or other serious medical events
• Permanent disability or death in extreme circumstances
• Loss of or damage to personal property

This list is not exhaustive. Some risks may arise from the athlete’s own actions, another person’s actions, venue conditions, equipment, weather, travel, or circumstances that cannot reasonably be predicted.

5. Medical Fitness

By accepting this waiver, I confirm that:

• I am responsible for determining whether I am physically and medically fit to participate.
• I have consulted a qualified medical professional when appropriate.
• I will not participate while ill, injured, impaired, or otherwise medically unfit.
• I will stop participating and seek assistance if I experience pain, dizziness, breathing difficulty, weakness, chest discomfort, or other concerning symptoms.
• I will disclose information necessary for immediate safety or emergency care through the appropriate confidential channel.

The Organizer may prevent or stop participation when an athlete appears unfit, presents an immediate safety risk, or requires medical evaluation.

Such action is a safety measure and is not a medical diagnosis.

6. Supplements, Medications, and Substances

I am solely responsible for any food, supplement, medication, performance-enhancing substance, tanning product, or other product I choose to use.

I understand that products may cause side effects, allergic reactions, contamination, interactions, or violations of applicable competition rules or Philippine law.

I am responsible for reviewing and complying with all applicable NPC Worldwide, IFBB Professional League, event, and legal requirements.

7. Assumption of Inherent Risks

I knowingly accept the ordinary and inherent risks reasonably associated with voluntary participation in the event, after having had the opportunity to review this waiver and ask questions.

I understand that accepting inherent risks does not waive rights or liabilities that cannot lawfully be waived.

8. Release and Limitation of Claims

To the extent permitted by Philippine law, I release the approved Released Parties from claims arising solely from the ordinary and inherent risks of my voluntary participation that I have knowingly accepted under this waiver.

Proposed Released Parties:

• Its authorized officers, employees, and event personnel
• Approved contractors and event-service providers
• The event venue and its authorized personnel
• Other parties specifically approved by the organizer’s legal adviser

CONFIRM THE FINAL RELEASED PARTIES WITH LEGAL COUNSEL. Do not automatically name NPC Worldwide, IFBB Professional League, sponsors, or unrelated parties without authorization.

Nothing in this waiver is intended to release or exclude liability for:

• Fraud or willful misconduct
• Gross negligence where liability cannot lawfully be waived
• Violation of a mandatory legal duty
• Any right or liability that cannot be waived under law
• Injury to the legally protected rights of another person

This entire release section requires approval by a qualified Philippine legal adviser before public use.

9. Emergency Assistance and Medical Care

If I become injured or ill during the event, I authorize reasonable immediate first aid and emergency assistance.

If I am unable to communicate and my emergency contact cannot immediately be reached, I authorize emergency personnel to arrange treatment or transportation reasonably considered necessary under the circumstances.

I understand that:

• Event personnel may not be licensed medical professionals unless specifically identified as such.
• The event cannot guarantee the availability or outcome of medical care.
• I remain responsible for medical, ambulance, hospital, medication, and related costs, subject to applicable law or insurance coverage.
• I am responsible for providing accurate emergency-contact information.

10. Insurance

Unless the Organizer expressly confirms coverage in writing, I understand that I am responsible for arranging my own appropriate health, accident, travel, and personal-property insurance.

11. Compliance and Athlete Conduct

I agree to:

• Follow all applicable competition and venue rules
• Follow reasonable health, safety, and security instructions
• Attend required briefings and athlete check-ins
• Behave respectfully toward athletes, officials, and personnel
• Avoid threatening, abusive, dangerous, or disruptive conduct
• Use backstage and competition facilities responsibly

The Organizer may remove or disqualify a participant whose conduct violates applicable rules or creates a reasonable safety or security risk.

12. Personal Property

I am responsible for securing my money, identification, equipment, clothing, mobile devices, bags, and other personal property.

The handling of lost, stolen, or damaged property remains subject to applicable law and the specific circumstances of the incident.

13. Event Photography and Recording

I understand that the event takes place in an environment where official photographers, videographers, media partners, and other attendees may capture images or recordings.

Incidental appearance in crowd, stage, awards, results, or event documentation may occur as part of attending and participating in the event.

Official use of my name, image, voice, competition number, class, placement, results, photograph, or event footage may include:

• Official event coverage and reporting
• Competition results and historical records
• Livestreams or event recaps
• Website and social-media publication
• Reasonable promotion of current or future events

The organizer should use a separate checkbox when separate or specific consent is legally required. Media will be handled in accordance with the Privacy Policy .

14. Results and Public Records

I understand that my athlete name, class, competition number, placement, awards, and official results may be announced or published as part of the legitimate documentation and reporting of the competition.

Any publication remains subject to applicable privacy, correction, and event-record requirements.

15. Parent or Legal Guardian Consent

Minimum participation age and minor-athlete policy: [CONFIRM EVENT AND SANCTIONING-BODY REQUIREMENTS]

If the athlete is below the legal age, the parent or legal guardian confirms that:

• They have legal authority to act for the minor athlete
• They have read and understood this waiver
• They consent to the minor athlete’s participation, subject to applicable rules
• They have discussed the risks and responsibilities with the minor athlete in an age-appropriate manner
• They authorize reasonable emergency assistance as described in this waiver

16. Privacy

Personal and emergency information collected in connection with this waiver will be processed according to the Musclecontest Philippines Privacy Policy .

Medical or health information should be collected only when necessary and through an appropriately protected process.

17. No Guarantee of Results

Registration and participation do not guarantee eligibility approval, placement, awards, professional qualification, judging results, sponsorship, publicity, or any other competition outcome.

Judging and results remain subject to applicable competition rules and official procedures.

18. Acknowledgment of Understanding

By accepting this waiver, I confirm that:

• I have read the entire document
• I understand its material terms
• I had an opportunity to ask questions
• I am accepting it voluntarily
• I am not relying on promises not written in this document
• The information I provided is accurate
• I understand that this document affects legal rights

If I do not understand the language used in this waiver, I will request assistance or an appropriate translation before accepting it.

19. Severability and Applicable Law

If a provision of this waiver is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining lawful provisions should continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.

This waiver is governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines.

20. Electronic Acceptance and Record
